There have been many new gun bills introduced this legislative session. Below is a summary of the Good, Bad and Ugly.
Good
H.R. 95 - Hearing Protection Act - This bill removes silencers from the definition of firearms for the purpose of the National Firearms Act.
H.R. 38 - Concealed Carry Reciprocity - This bill establishes a federal statutory framework to regulate the carry or possession of concealed firearms across state lines.
Specifically, an individual who is eligible to carry a concealed firearm in one state may carry or possess a concealed handgun (other than a machine gun or destructive device) in another state that allows its residents to carry concealed firearms.
H.R. 993 - Second Amendment Preservation Act - Cut all federal funding from implementing, enforcing or advancing any measure, law, regulation, or guidance relating to the unlawful use purchase, sale, possession or transportation of firearms.
H.R. 125 - Gun Safety, Not Sorry - To amend title 18, United States Code, to provide for a 7-day waiting period before a semiautomatic firearm, a silencer, armor piercing ammunition, or a large capacity ammunition magazine may be transferred.
H.R. 121 Gun Violence Reduction Resources Act - This bill authorizes the Department of Justice to hire 200 additional agents and investigators for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
